By default, everyone who can edit posts can use the SEO box, and only administrators can change Signocore SEO settings. Two settings let you narrow the first group and widen the second.
Where to find the settings
Go to Signocore SEO → General and scroll to the Access Control card. Only administrators can open this page. Both settings list every user role on your site except Administrator, including roles added by other plugins.
Administrators always have access, whatever you choose.
SEO Metabox Access
SEO Metabox Access decides who can see and edit the SEO fields.
- With no role ticked (the default), every user who can edit posts has access: in a standard WordPress setup that is Editors, Authors and Contributors.
- Once you tick one or more roles, only those roles and administrators have access. Everyone else loses the SEO fields.
The setting covers:
- The Search Engine Optimization - Signocore SEO box in the post editor and the Select Primary Category box.
- The SEO fields on category, tag and term edit screens and on user profiles.
- The Bulk Editor, and the links from the SEO Dashboard into it.
- With Pro, the AI buttons in the SEO box and the AI suggestions in the Bulk Editor.
Hiding the fields from a role does not remove any data. Titles, descriptions and other SEO values stay in place and keep working, and users without access cannot change them.
WordPress's own permissions still apply on top: users only save SEO fields on posts, terms and profiles they are allowed to edit. An Author, for example, can see other people's posts in the Bulk Editor, but changes to them are not saved.
Settings Access
Settings Access lets other roles edit two settings pages: Company (company details and schema settings) and Social (social profiles, the default social image and the Facebook, X and Pinterest IDs).
- Tick the roles that should manage these pages.
- Click Save Changes.
Users with a ticked role now find Company and Social in the Signocore SEO menu. The roles you tick must also be able to edit posts, so Subscribers and similar roles do not get access even when ticked.
All other settings pages stay with administrators, including the pages that hold the license key, API keys, scripts and these access settings.

Examples
- Keep SEO with your editors. Tick Editor under SEO Metabox Access. Authors and Contributors no longer see the SEO fields, and editors handle titles and descriptions for everyone.
- Let a marketing role manage company details. Tick that role under Settings Access. It can update the address, opening hours and social profiles without access to the license, scripts or indexing settings.
