What Signocore Consent does.

Signocore Consent puts a cookie banner on your site and tells Google tags what the visitor decided. Every Consent Mode signal starts as denied, a returning visitor's choice is applied in the page head before any Google tag runs, and the scripts you mark stay inert until the visitor agrees to their category.

Consent Mode v2

The default reaches Google before anything else on the page: all seven signals denied apart from security storage, a 500 ms wait for an update, and ad data redaction on. Preferences, Statistics and Marketing each grant their own signals, so a visitor who allows statistics but not marketing gets exactly that in Google Analytics and Google Ads.

Already on Signocore Toolkit?

Signocore Toolkit removes its consent module in version 5.0, and Signocore Consent takes over. You can switch today: activate Signocore Consent and Toolkit's banner switches itself off, so a site never shows two banners or sends two sets of Consent Mode defaults. The switching guide lists what moves where.

// see it in context

What your visitors see, and what you set.

The banner as a first-time visitor meets it, the settings window with one switch per category, and the settings page in WordPress.

Free. No catch.

Works on its own. With Signocore Toolkit active, Toolkit's own banner steps aside.

// what you get

What the banner takes care of.

01

Reject as easy as accept

Accept all and Reject all sit side by side on the first screen. Closing the settings window before choosing, with the close button, a click outside or Escape, counts as Reject all.

02

Four categories

Necessary is always on. Preferences, Statistics and Marketing stay off until the visitor switches them on in the settings window.

03

Google Consent Mode v2

Defaults in the head before any Google tag, a returning visitor's choice applied straight after, and each category mapped to its own signals.

04

Scripts that wait

Give a script type="text/plain" and a data-scc-consent category, and it runs the moment the visitor agrees, without a page reload. External scripts work the same way with data-src.

05

Change your mind any time

A floating cookie button reopens the settings. Prefer a footer link? Use the [consent-settings] shortcode or link to #consent-settings.

06

Your text, your position

Bottom right, bottom left or full width. Write your own banner text, and a link to your privacy policy is added for you. Choices are remembered for 30 to 730 days.

07

Takes your theme's colors

The banner inherits your theme's font and reads its colors from the Kadence palette or theme.json presets. Every color is a CSS custom property you can override.

08

Works with page caching

The banner decides in the browser whether to show itself, so cached pages stay cached and every visitor still gets the right state.

09

Keyboard and screen reader ready

A real dialog with focus kept inside it, Escape to close, focus returned to where it came from, and labeled switches.

// built for developers

One attribute, one filter, a small JavaScript API.

Hold any script back by changing its type. Add or rename categories with the signocore_consent_categories filter, read the choice from JavaScript, or react to it with window events. PHP pages that load wp-load.php outside the theme get the banner with two helper functions.

footer.php
<!-- Loads only after the visitor allows marketing -->
<script type="text/plain" data-scc-consent="marketing"
        data-src="https://example.com/pixel.js"></script>

<!-- Needs both categories -->
<script type="text/plain" data-scc-consent="statistics marketing">
  /* your script */
</script>

<script>
// Ask from your own code, or listen for a new choice
SignocoreConsent.has('statistics');
window.addEventListener('signocore-consent:updated', (e) => {
  console.log(e.detail.marketing);
});
</script>

// frequently asked

Common questions about Signocore Consent.

Does Signocore Consent make my site GDPR compliant?

It handles the consent part: nothing that needs consent is granted before the visitor agrees, Reject all is as easy as Accept all, and visitors can change their mind at any time. Compliance also covers your privacy policy, what your scripts collect and where that data goes, which no plugin can decide for you. Choose your privacy policy page under Settings → Privacy and the banner links to it.

Does it scan my site and block cookies automatically?

No. You decide which scripts wait for consent by changing their type to text/plain and adding data-scc-consent with a category. Google tags that support Consent Mode need no changes: they start with every signal denied and follow the visitor's choice.

Where is the visitor's choice stored?

In a first-party cookie called signocore_consent in the visitor's own browser, together with the time and how the choice was made. Nothing is sent to your server or to Signocore. The choice is remembered for 365 days by default, and you can set anything from 30 to 730.

I already use Signocore Toolkit. Do I need this?

Yes, before Toolkit 5.0, which removes its consent module. You can switch today: activate Signocore Consent and Toolkit's banner switches itself off, so a site never shows two. Set up your banner text and position again in Consent, and expect visitors to be asked for their choice once more, because the two plugins store it in different cookies.

Can I add my own categories?

Yes. The signocore_consent_categories filter adds categories or changes the labels and descriptions of the built-in ones. A category can grant Google Consent Mode signals, or simply gate your own scripts.

Does it work with my theme and page builder?

The banner inherits your theme's font and takes its colors from the Kadence palette or your theme.json presets, with neutral fallbacks for everything else. Every color is a CSS custom property you can override. In Bricks, the banner stays out of the builder canvas while you edit.

Which languages does the banner come in?

English and Danish ship with the plugin, and the banner follows your site language. Every text can be translated like any other WordPress plugin, and the banner message itself is a setting.

Is it really free?

Yes. No Pro tier, no tracking and no account. Download it, install it, and updates arrive in WordPress like any other plugin.
