Installation and license

Free and Pro are the same plugin. You install Signocore SEO once, and a license key switches on the Pro features.

Before you install

Check that your site runs a supported WordPress and PHP version on the platform support page. On a PHP version that is too old, the plugin does not load and shows a notice with the version it needs instead.
The PHP dom extension is needed for the Table of Contents block and the subheading keyword check. Everything else works without it.
If you use another SEO plugin, keep it installed for now. Import its data first and deactivate it afterwards, as described in Switch from another SEO plugin. Two SEO plugins running side by side print duplicate tags.

Install the plugin

Download the zip file from https://download.signocore.com/signocore-seo.
In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New Plugin and click Upload Plugin.
Choose the zip file and click Install Now.
Click Activate Plugin.

A Signocore SEO menu appears in the admin sidebar, and the plugin starts printing meta tags on your site right away. Two steps are worth doing next:

Go to Signocore SEO → Company, fill in your company details and click Save Changes. The structured data is printed only after this page has been saved once. See Structured data.
Open your sitemap. The link is at the bottom of the XML Sitemap card on Signocore SEO → Visibility. If it returns a 404 page, see Troubleshooting.

Activate your Pro license

Pro: This needs a Signocore SEO Pro license.

Go to Signocore SEO → General.
In the License Key card, enter the email address you used for the purchase in Signocore SEO License Email.
Enter the license key you received after the purchase in Signocore SEO License Key.
Click Save Changes.

When you save, Signocore SEO checks the license with the Signocore license server. The license is tied to the email address and the key together, so both must match your purchase. Once it is accepted, the Pro badges disappear and the Pro features unlock.

To check the license again later, click Verify license next to the key. The result appears under the field, for example "License verified - Pro features are active." If the key is not accepted, WordPress shows the notice "The license key seems invalid" until you enter a valid one.

A short outage on the license server does not switch Pro off: the plugin keeps working with the last license it verified.

What Pro unlocks

AI generation of titles, descriptions, keywords, articles and images, including AI suggestions in the Bulk Editor.
Redirects and the 404 manager.
llms.txt and the advanced structured data types, see Sitemaps, indexing and robots.txt and Structured data.
Internal link analysis in the editor's Links tab and the orphaned pages check, see Titles, descriptions and templates.
Automatic alt text for images you upload, based on the image title.

Change or remove the license key

A saved key is masked and cannot be edited. To use a different key:

Click Disable license next to the key and confirm.
Enter the new key and click Save Changes.

Disabling the license removes the key and switches the Pro features off. Settings and content you created with Pro stay in the database and work again once a license is active.

Updates

Signocore SEO updates from Signocore's own update server, not from WordPress.org. New versions appear under Dashboard → Updates and on the Plugins screen, and you install them like any other plugin update.

WordPress checks for updates on its own schedule. To check right away, click Check again on Dashboard → Updates.
A new version is only offered when your site meets the WordPress and PHP versions it requires. A site on an older PHP version stays on its current release and keeps working. See platform support.
After an update, Signocore SEO rebuilds its cached output (meta tags, sitemaps, breadcrumbs and llms.txt), so changes in the new version show up at once.

Deactivate or delete the plugin

Deactivating Signocore SEO stops all of its output, clears its caches and scheduled tasks, and removes its sitemap addresses from WordPress. Your settings and SEO data stay in the database.

The plugin has no uninstall routine. When you delete it from the Plugins screen, WordPress removes the plugin files, while your settings and the SEO data on your posts, terms and users stay in the database. If you install Signocore SEO again later, everything is still there.
