WooCommerce tweaks

Payment logos, a safe checkout box on product pages, shop sorting options, free shipping rules and store emails in Signocore Toolkit.

When WooCommerce is active, Signocore Toolkit adds a Shop tab with a few store settings, and makes some changes to the store on its own. Without WooCommerce, neither the tab nor the changes below exist.

Shop settings

Go to Signocore Toolkit → Shop and click Save Changes when you are done.

General

Setting Default What it does
Ordering On Shows WooCommerce's sorting dropdown above product lists. Turn it off to hide the dropdown.
Result Count On Shows the line above product lists that tells how many products are listed. Turn it off to hide it.

Turned off, each setting removes WooCommerce's standard output. A theme that prints its own sorting dropdown or count is not affected.

Images

Payment Logos decides which payment logos the [payment-methods] shortcode and the safe checkout box show. Click a logo to select or deselect it. By default, Visa and Mastercard are selected.

The logos come with the plugin: Alipay, American Express, Apple Pay, Bank Transfer, Bitcoin, Dankort, Discover, EAN, Google Pay, JCB, Klarna, Maestro, Mastercard, MobilePay, PayPal, Resurs, Santander, Sparxpres, Swish, UnionPay, ViaBill, Visa Electron and Visa. Each logo's alt text is the payment method's name followed by "logo". You cannot add your own. After you save, the logos appear in the order of this list.

Safe Checkout adds a box titled "Guaranteed Safe checkout" with your payment logos to single product pages:

Option Where the box appears
Do not show Nowhere.
Before quantity Inside the add to cart form, just before the quantity field.
After summary (default) At the end of the product summary, where WooCommerce places sharing buttons. It comes before the Toolkit's own share buttons.

The box is built once per language and cached. Changing Payment Logos clears the cache, so the box always shows your current selection.

With older versions of Signocore FAQ or Signocore Glossary, the Shop tab also has a Related Content card. Related FAQs and Related Terms, both on by default, add a "Related Questions" and a "Related Terms" tab to products, chosen by the product's tags. Current versions of those plugins add these tabs themselves, with their own settings, and the card is not shown.

Changes without a setting

These are always on while WooCommerce is active.

Free shipping hides paid rates

When a cart qualifies for a free shipping rate, the other shipping rates are hidden, so customers are not asked to pay for shipping they can get for free. Free shipping rates stay, and so do local pickup rates: the Local pickup method in a shipping zone and the pickup locations of the block-based checkout. When no free shipping rate is available, every rate shows as usual.

"View product" on variable products

In product lists, such as the shop page and category pages, the button on variable products reads "View product" instead of WooCommerce's own text, such as "Select options". The button still opens the product page, where customers choose a variation. On a single product page, related and upsell products keep WooCommerce's text.

Reply-To on store emails

Emails WooCommerce sends to customers get a Reply-To header with your company name and email address from Signocore SEO → Company, so replies reach you instead of the sending address. It replaces WooCommerce's own Reply-To, so each email has one. On a multilingual site, the details of the current language are used, as with the company shortcodes. When the company name is empty, your site title is used.

WooCommerce's own Reply-To stays when Signocore SEO is not active, when Email Address on Signocore SEO → Company is empty or not valid, and on emails where you set a Reply-To in WooCommerce's own email settings. Emails to the store, such as new order notifications, always keep WooCommerce's Reply-To, which is the customer's address.

Cleaner shop and product pages

  • WooCommerce's own breadcrumb trail above shop and product pages is removed. On Kadence and Signocore Slate, the breadcrumbs from Signocore SEO take its place while Signocore SEO is active, see Troubleshooting.
  • The "Description" and "Additional information" headings inside the product tabs are removed. The tab titles stay.
  • A product without a description gets no Description tab.
  • Category tiles in the shop no longer show how many products each category holds.

Share buttons on products

When Products is ticked under Signocore Toolkit → Social → Add social sharing, product pages get share buttons for Facebook, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest (when the product has a product image) and email, at the end of the product summary. This works with any theme that uses WooCommerce's standard product page.

REST API media restriction

The Restrict WP Rest API switch appears in the Hardening card on Signocore Toolkit → Security only while WooCommerce is active, and it is on by default. It keeps your downloadable product files from being found through the WordPress REST API: visitors and customers who cannot edit posts get an error from the media endpoint, and WooCommerce download files and zip files are left out of its answers. See Security hardening for the details.
